New Zealand Spotted Smoothhound
CAESARIAN SECTION on the BEACH Spotted smoothhound pups being released after I performed a caesarian section on their mother. They drop their pups at this time of year (September onwards), so these were quite viable and swam happily away. The New Zealand spotted smoothhound (Mustelus lenticulatus) has several common names: lemon fish, gummy sharks, rig.
